Philosophy
The Child Development Center believes that the best way to serve children and families is to provide a supportive partnership. We believe that a warm and nurturing atmosphere is the best environment for both children and adults to learn and grow. Our focus is to provide developmentally appropriate activities for children and to provide opportunities for parents to enhance their parenting skills.
Our belief is that each child is an individual, special and unique. We recognize that young children are action oriented and learn by hands on experience. Our program is designed to develop and integrate the five selves: Social, emotion, cognitive, creative, and physical. We believe that primary and small group care is significant in a child’s development of self-confident, autonomy, initiative, and cooperative relationship. We promote understanding and respect for the family’s cultural heritage.
We believe in positive methods of discipline. The teachers establish clear, reasonable, and developmentally appropriate expectations. All discipline is respectful of the child, understanding that learning appropriate behavior’s takes time.
