Financial Aid for Undocumented Students
California Dream Act
Application OPEN October 1st-March 2nd
The California Dream Act allows undocumented and nonresident documented students who meet certain provisions to apply for and receive private scholarships funded through public universities, state administered financial aid, University grants, community college fee waivers, and Cal Grants.
Who Can Apply for the California Dream Act?
Students who live in California and meet the eligibility requirements of Assembly Bill (AB) 540 or AB 2000, as well as students who have a U Visa or TPS status, can use the California Dream Act application (CADAA)
The application can be found at www.caldreamact.org The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) processes the application and any aid received can only be used at eligible California public or private institutions
U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens such as permanent residents should complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. They may be eligible for federal student aid as well as California student aid.
The Cal Grant application deadline for students using the CADAA or the FAFSA is March 2nd prior to the academic year.

- COMPLETE PARENT SIGNATURE (IF APPLICABLE)
- COMPLETE AB540 FORM AND SUBMIT TO A&R
- REGISTER FOR SELECTIVE SERVICE (ONLY MALES 18-25 YRS)
- COMPLETE GPA VERIFICATION BY MARCH 2ND

- CAL GRANT A (HELD IN RESERVE UNTIL YOU TRANSFER TO A 4-YEAR UNIVERSITY)
- CAL GRANT B (FOR PROGRAMS AT LEAST 1 YEAR LONG)

- STUDENT SUCCESS COMPLETION GRANT (INCREASES IF TAKING 15 UNITS)
