A Holiday Message from President Kathleen F. Burke
As the year draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very happy and healthy holiday season. This year, Trade-Tech was pleased to welcome more of our students, back to campus with in-person classes and activities. Our bi-annual Gold Thimble Fashion Show was held in the Spring to the theme of Broadway musicals, and again in the Fall, with Madonna as inspiration. Both shows were visual feasts for the eyes and a testament to the immense talent of our students. In the summer, we celebrated the graduating Class of 2022 with a return to our in-person Commencement ceremony. Over 550 students crossed the stage to receive their certificates and diplomas at the first Commencement to be hosted on our campus’s new athletic field. As we transitioned to Fall, Trade-Tech hosted the semester’s Open House, welcoming nearly 1,000 prospective students for a full day of campus tours, enrollment workshops, informational booths, and giveaways. It was an invigorating day as we saw our campus filled with those who would soon be part of the Trade-Tech family.

Looking forward, 2023 is sure to be an exciting year at Trade-Tech. The third annual Culinary Cup will see our Culinary Arts students face off against our Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) sister colleges, Harbor and Mission. With each campus trading off hosting duties, next year will finally be our turn to showcase the rival competition on our own home turf. It’s sure to be a good one!

We are also at a major moment in our campus’s transformation. Building for the Construction Technology Building is underway and a new facility for our Design and Media Arts Pathway is currently being planned. These buildings will allow the programs to expand and become state-of-the-art homes for their respective pathways. Trade-Tech’s campus continues to grow and develop in the years ahead, making it an even more exciting time to be a student at Trade-Tech. There is much to look forward to at the college and we believe that the future of our students is bright here.

Once again, Happy Holidays. I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you here in the New Year.
