Pride Month is a month-long observance dedicated to the celebration of LGBTQ pride and commemorating the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) culture and community. Though typically observed in June in the United States, many colleges host a series of events in celebration of ”GAYpril” when more students are on campus.

To kick off "GAYpril", Bucky's Pride Center will be showing a movie screening of "Dance of the 41" (2020). Popcorn and snow cones will be available. All are welcome!

About "Dance of the 41"
At the end of the 19th century, a secretly gay congressman marries the Mexican president's daughter, but is then found cavorting with a young man at a private party. And then scandal hits. Based on a true story, "Dance of the 41" explores Ignacio de la Torre's double life as he rises in the traditional world of politics while being a member of a clandestine society.
