3rd Annual Culinary Cup Competition

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College is pleased to host the Los Angeles Community College District’s third annual Culinary Cup on Friday, May 12, 2023. The full-day event presents an exciting culinary competition featuring chef instructors and culinary students from the District’s three colleges with culinary programs: LATTC, LA Harbor College, and LA Mission College. The competition will culminate with the awarding of the coveted Golden Chef’s Hat trophy. This year’s event will take inspiration from the flavors of Southeast Asia. Culinary teams will be asked use six traditional Southeast Asian ingredients to prepare classic Southeast Asian-inspired dishes. LATTC will bring in professionals from throughout the culinary industry to score the college teams in three distinct categories: Savory, Plated Dessert, and Tablescape. This year, LATTC is pleased to welcome chef, entrepreneur, and Food Network star, Jet Tila as a special guest judge. Born in Los Angeles to Thai Chinese parents, Chef Tila received the title of inaugural Culinary Ambassador of Thai Cuisine by the Royal Thai Consul-General.
In addition to the day’s competition, guests will enjoy guided tours of LATTC’s Culinary Arts Building, cooking and baking demonstrations, a special Southeast Asian lunch prepared by Culinary Art students, and a seat at the awards ceremony.
